At 23 years old, Adam Harrison became Cash Generator’s youngest franchisee after setting up in business with his father, Eric Harrison. The duo launched their first store in Sunderland in December 2009.
After completing a degree in Estate Management at the University of Northumbria Adam gathered a wealth of experience travelling the world, developing his own property management business and running a successful retail enterprise.
With a desire to return to home turf for a more permanent career, Adam investigated a number of franchise opportunities. The pair were attracted to Cash Generator due to its extensive training and ongoing support. The company’s multiple income streams appealed greatly, especially as Eric has extensive retail and leisure experience, including operating multiple fast food franchise outlets.
With the backing of the Cash Generator network, Adam has taken on the day-to-day role of managing the store in Sunderland, heading up an experienced team of five.
Nine months on from opening his Cash Generator store, Adam says: “Dad and I know the area very well and are utilising our combined experience and expertise to make our Cash Generator store a coveted destination.
“It is a lot of hard work but the rewards have been worth it, after such a positive start in Sunderland, we plan to open multiple Cash Generator stores across the North East within the next few years.
“My advice to aspiring franchisees would be to make sure you pick a good location and to never underestimate the local competition. By researching the location you can make sure your store has a good start.”
